HELL BAY 2006-12-10

The lady in white at the bay
She knew her way
Between black rocks overlooking the maelstrom,
White foam in circles of purity and death.
She was Nature
We were a love sculpture
Stones living forever
Until the wind erodes and erases
They last a while, or a lifetime
Who knows ?

The lighthouse beam marks time
A human sign
Powerless nevertheless against time and tide
I love the wonderful you
Which will remain when I am gone
I love the drizzle on my skin
And in your land of Oz and fern
The man-eating bird that you fear so much
Close to me
Closer than you will ever be
"I thought of you at Hell bay" you said
A passing thought for you and me ?
Are we dead souls
Blown away like spray to a white death ?
The celtic cross and the tombstones say
We are alive and love
Symbols of more than one night of light
A white bird of Paradise in your eyes
Flying like a poem, a sad song
To go up in flames
For you
My lady of the bay
