Like knights enamoured
Here we stand, on the edge of the mountain of old
Armoured with helmets of black carbon,
With blades of shiny tacky aluminium
To go on our quest beyond the vale
Over granite hills
Monsters waiting to be challenged.
The ambush, the pass, the climb
All efforts of the mind ?
Many fair maids undoubtedly
Will want to hear about our victory
Celebrations and congratulations aplenty
The drinks will be on me.
If I fly.
Conquer the castle, or
Dive in the dungeon, plummet in the pit
Silver dart in the sky to split the apple, or
Black arrow doomed to cow-dung landing
Spirited decisions, premeditations, prevarications
If I fly.
